Art of Becoming

I’m Raj Dhillon, a New York–based emerging artist. I moved from California to New York in January 2026 for a career in tech, and in the months that followed, I unexpectedly found my way to painting.

What began as a way to ease the loneliness of living in a big city soon became a source of comfort, expression, and self-discovery. My work explores transition, identity, release, and the parts of ourselves that can emerge when life takes us somewhere unexpected.

My first collection, The Becoming Series, traces that journey — from California to New York, from uncertainty to release, and toward a deeper understanding of who I am becoming.

For me, art has become a way of finding home within myself.
